[Amdt. 25-116, 69 FR 62788, Nov 26, 2004] Appendix F to Part 25, Part I (a)(1)(ii) [Amdt. 25-111, Eff. 9/2/2003] and FAA Approved “...Testing Procedures” dated May 1995.  ·          Our explosion and fire containment bags passed violent detonation tests (small explosives were involved) with zero exterior damage .       Our bags were tested with an overheated laptop  containing a 4500mAh Lithium-Ion battery. The computer melted and burned during this 1 hour test. The bag showed zero exterior damage .  Our carbon felt liner helps to absorb a significant amount of smoke. (photos and videos to come)   ·          Our bags held open flamed embers (the flap was left open with plenty of oxygen) burning at 1,000 - 1,200 degrees (F) for 25 minutes before showing any exterior charring. Laptop batteries typically only burn for a few minutes and need little or no oxygen, but the plastic  components will often burn for long periods of time (even after the battery cells have all vented), however plastic  requires oxygen to burn. Our bags are designed to greatly reduce oxygen and smother such fires (remember, for this test the bag was left wide open). ·          Our bags had embers burning at over 1,100 degree (F) sealed inside (which greatly reduces the oxygen supply).The exterior of the bag never showed damage  and was touchable throughout this test (bare skinned) without any discomfort.
